A Message From The President

Dear Members of the OTA,

The Orthopaedic Trauma Association and Wolters Kluwer are officially initiating the process of selecting the successor to Dr. Roy Sanders as the Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma. As many of you are aware, Dr. Sanders has served as the EiC of the JOT for over two and a half decades. He took over for the inaugural editor, Dr. Phillip G. Spiegel in 1996 and has elevated the journal to its current status. There have been many significant accomplishments for the JOT under Dr. Sanders' leadership, including continued growth of the impact factor, increased views and readership, and additions of publication features such as grand grounds and numerous special editions. His many contributions have without a doubt played a significant role in increasing JOT’s footprint within orthopaedic trauma scholarly publishing.

Dr. Sanders will officially retire from this role in December of 2023, and our goal is to have a Deputy Editor-in-Chief appointed by January 2023. To ensure a smooth transition, the Deputy EiC will serve alongside Dr. Sanders for the final year of his tenure. The OTA and Wolters Kluwer encourage interested members to apply. The search announcement and application instructions are now available, and the deadline to apply is June 15, 2022.

Sincerely,

Archdeacon2021
