
Program Description
The International Relations Committee provides up to two EGLOW Fellowships annually, thanks to the generous support of The Wyss Medical Foundation and contributions from OTA members.
The 2026 EGLOW application is now open! The application deadline is January 16.
Program Objectives
Recognize the achievements of women orthopaedic surgeons who are emerging leaders in their resource-limited home countries.
Provide educational opportunities that will enhance their practice of orthopaedic trauma and potentially raise the level of trauma care in their local home communities.
Offer mentorship, role modeling, and community for these surgeons within the field of orthopaedic trauma.
Fellowship Details
Two fellows will be selected each year from countries with limited resources (determined by the World Bank as low- and low-middle-income).
The International Relations and Diversity Committees will review all applications and select the recipients.

The fellowship includes:
A 3–5-day observership at a North American trauma center;
Travel expenses to the OTA annual meeting to include:
Transportation from your home country to the OTA Annual Meeting
All potential travel to the observership site within North America (if in a different city than the Annual Meeting)
Hotel stays for the OTA Annual Meeting and the observership
Small per diem
Paid 2026 OTA Annual Meeting registration
Paid one-year OTA membership
