Use of a Routine Postoperative CT scan following Posterior Pelvic Fixation of Pelvic Ring Fractures

The use of routine postoperative CT scans following surgical
treatment of pelvic ring fractures has increased over the past several years. Recent
literature suggests that some patients, specifically patients whose fixation includes the use
of sacroiliac screws, may benefit from a routine postoperative CT scan following pelvic
fracture fixation, however, there is insufficient evidence to support its use in all patients.
The purpose of this brief survey (3-5 minutes) is to better understand how many
orthopedic traumatologists obtain routine postoperative CT scans after posterior pelvic
fixation and if this leads to revision surgery.
