SURVEY POLICY

  • Prospective survey submission deadlines will be twice per year, well in advance of the OTA Annual Meeting and the OTA Specialty Day at the AAOS meeting (deadlines in December/January and May/June).
  • Each survey proposal will be reviewed by the Research Committee Chair and/or the Strategic Research Initiative (SRI) Chair for eligibility, completeness of application, and relevance to the OTA mission.
  • Selected survey proposals will be reviewed by up to 3 independent reviewers from the research committee and/or strategic research initiative committee membership.
  • The top 3 to 4 surveys will be selected based on evaluation criteria including: alignment with the OTA mission, appropriate length of survey, clarity of questions, ability of survey questions to answer the objectives of the survey proposal, and likelihood of survey data informing/improving a future research question/project.
  • The selected applicants will be required to respond to the reviewer feedback and possibly modify survey questions prior to final approval and distribution at the OTA Annual Meeting or at the OTA Specialty Day at the AAOS meeting.
  • The selected survey applicants will be expected to provide a summary of the survey results upon completion of the survey, and may be requested to submit an abstract for consideration for presentation at the OTA Annual Meeting.
  • Accepted surveys will be maintained for for promotion on the OTA website and OTA publications for a maximum of 12 months.

Member Survey proposal form collection will be from November 1st- December 1st, 2025.
