In partnership with the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA), the 2025 OTA Specialty Day will offer an engaging and diverse program designed for trauma and pediatric specialists, general orthopaedists, trainees, and advanced practice providers. The agenda will include joint sessions on pediatric trauma topics relevant to all surgeons, featuring leading experts from both POSNA and OTA. Attendees will also benefit from a session highlighting the most impactful, practice-changing studies of the past decade. Additionally, forward-looking presentations will explore emerging advances in orthopaedic trauma, along with a dedicated session featuring insights from future OTA presidents on the direction of the organization and the field.

Target Audience:

This meeting is designed for orthopaedic surgeons and is beneficial for related allied, health care professionals including advance practice providers. OTA has created the program based on stated needs and interests expressed from previous Specialty Day attendee feedback.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Describe novel and innovative approaches to addressing challenges in orthopaedic trauma.
  2. Review practice-changing literature within the field of orthopaedic trauma.
  3. Articulate the future direction of orthopaedic trauma as envisioned by current and future OTA leadership
  4. Understand the latest updates and current controversies in pediatric fracture care covering orthopedic emergencies at all ages and fracture management in the adolescent years.
