Recorded OTA Webinar On-Demand (No CME credit awarded.)
Webinar Description:
This webinar will present case-based discussions on the management of difficult fractures of the humerus. Proximal, diaphyseal, and distal humeral fractures will be examined with special attention to unique fracture problems, including fracture-dislocations, ballistic injuries, segmental fractures, osteoporotic fractures, periprosthetic fractures, fractures with bone loss, and nonunions/malunions. There will be ample time dedicated to reviewing problematic cases with faculty discussion and audience interaction.
Objectives:
1. Identify characteristics and situations in proximal, diaphyseal, and distal humerus fractures which pose unique problems for fixation.
2. Discuss approaches to allow appropriate visualization, reduction, and instrumentation of difficult humeral fractures.
3. Develop surgical strategies to avoid pitfalls and complications in the management of complex humeral fractures.
