In memoriam: Berton Roy Moed, MD
OTA joins the orthopaedic community in mourning the passing of Berton Roy Moed, MD, on Oct. 22, 2020. From 2003 to 2017, Dr. Moed served as Chair of Orthopedic Surgery at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. In 2013, he was named the Hansjӧrg Wyss Endowed Chair in Orthopaedic Surgery in the School of Medicine.
Dr. Moed was born Sept. 9, 1950, in Brooklyn. He obtained a bachelor of science in zoology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and earned his medical degree at St. Louis University. He also served as a trustee on the AO Trauma International Board and as chair of the AO Trauma Research Commission. He will be recognized by the AOA in their Pillars of the Orthopaedic Profession program.
