Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon- Canadian Armed Forces

Job Description:

Canadian Armed Forces Orthopaedic Surgeons work in a dynamic interdisciplinary environment. Surgeons will be embedded in the trauma center where they currently practice as full-time members of the Canadian Armed Forces. They will be available for regular overseas deployments, domestic and international field exercises and contribute to military trauma education. Military-relevant research in extremity trauma will be encouraged. Candidates should be able to adapt to unpredictable situations and thrive in austere environments.

Minimal requirements:

  • Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in Orthopaedic Surgery
  • Unrestricted licence to Practice Medicine in a Canadian Province or Territory
  • Graduate of a recognized orthopaedic trauma fellowship program
  • Demonstrable record of academic excellence and leadership
  • Currently in active practice in a trauma center

Benefits:

  • Signing bonus of up to $225,000.
  • Starting salary of approximately $249,000
